Gunilla Süssmann
counts as one of the most sought after norwegian pianists, and has had a fast growing international career the last years. As both soloist and chambermusician she tours the whole world, and is highly acclaimed for her emotional and colourful playing. She's a regular guest at all the major festivals in Norway as well as abroad, and has given recitals in Spannungen Festival Heimbach, Wigmore Hall, Musée du Louvre and Concertgebouw.

Through her long and strong cooperation with cellist Tanja Tetzlaff she has been able to cultivate her love for chambermusic, which has brought them on tours through Europe, in addition to releasing 2 CDs and one film; Malinconia (2007), Brahms-sonatas (2012) and the film " The Golden Shoes of Rachmaninoff" (2015). The recordings have been praised in international press and the film has already been shown in several cinemas in Germany. Other recordings include CDs with Catherine Manoukian, Solveig Kringleborn, Ann-Helen Moen and Håvard Gimse.

She has been soloist with orchestras like Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, WDR Köln, English Chamber Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and Staatskapelle Weimar. Gunilla is facing a busy season. She's touring Norway, Belgium and Germany with Tanja Tetzlaff, she's appearing at Bergen International Festival, Risör Chambermusic Festival and Weilburger Schlossfestspiele. This season also sees her return to Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Weimar, and she's making her debut with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra.

Gunilla was born in Bergen, Norway, in 1977.
