Basile Auslaender
was born in 1996 in Lausanne (Switzerland). He started playing the cello at the age of five, as a student of Denis Guy's at the Conservatoire de Lausanne. A year later he started playing the harpsichord, first under Christine Sartoretti’s tuition, then Claire-Anne Piguet’s. Basile owes his tutors great musical sensitivity as well as high technical expectancies.

At the age of seven Basile started playing chamber music and orchestra. In 2006 he took part for the first time in the Swiss Youth Music Competition, for which he was awarded several times a first prize with distinction, both in solo and chamber music categories. He has played for many different ensembles, ranging from duets to symphonic orchestras. At the age of fourteen, he played for the first time as a soloist with the Orchestre du Conservatoire de Lausanne, conducted by Hervé Klopfenstein. He was then invited several times to play as a soloist with the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Suisse Romande, under the direction of conductors Théophanis Kapsopoulos and Patrick Genet of the Sine Nomine Quartet.

In 2011, for his foundation year at the Conservatoire de Lausanne, Basile entered the class of François Salque, also professor at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP). He has carried on with the same tutor for his Bachelor, and with his current Master's degree. In 2013 he was invited with his quartet to play in Singapore. He returned there in 2015 as a co-soloist for the Orchestre des Continents, performing at the Esplanade Concert Hall, and a week later at the Paléo Festival in Nyon (Switzerland). That year he also passed his Bachelor recital with the highest grade. This performance earned him the scholarship for Talent and Creativity from the Fondation Casino Barrière Montreux. Shortly after, he was playing in the Enescu Cello Competition.

In June 2017 Basile Auslaender obtained his Solo Master's degree with the highest mark. He also received the Max D. Jost Prize for the best solo recital with orchestra. Since then, he plays as an alternate with the Chamber Orchestra of Lausanne under the direction of well-known conductors such as Christian Zacharias or Gabor Takacs-Nagy and MusicAeterna of Perm (RU) under the direction of Theodor Currentzis. He participates in various musical projects in France and Switzerland with the Camerata de Lausanne, under the direction of Pierre Amoyal, and has been invited to play in Germany (with Daniel Schnyder’s ensemble), and in Russia (with Anastasia Subrakova and Ilya Lekhanov). Basile Auslaender joined in August 2017 the cello class of Marko Ylönen at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and pursues both his studies and his young career as a musician.

Jansen Ryser
winner of the Kiefer Hablitzel Göhner Music Prize, performs extensively across Europe, the United States, and Japan. Praised for his artistry, his playing is described as “combining natural pianism, musical sensitivity, and poetic eloquence.”

He appears regularly at major festivals including the Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Lavaux Classic, Week-End Musical de Pully, Interfinity Basel, Kammermusik Festival Basel, Iasi International Chamber Music Festival, Plovdiv International Chamber Music Festival, Les Jardins Musicaux de Cernier, Vienna Young Pianists, and Art et Musique de Sierre, both as soloist and chamber musician.

A frequent soloist with orchestras, Jansen made his debut at the age of fifteen at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, and in 2014 he performed at the Victoria Hall in Geneva. More recently, he appeared with the Sinfonieorchester Basel in Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 1 at the Stadtcasino Basel.

Born in Lausanne in 1994, Jansen began playing the piano at the age of five. He studied at the Haute École de Musique de Genève and at The Juilliard School in New York as a recipient of the Theodora J. Nicolas Piano Scholarship, working with Matti Raekallio, Sylviane Deferne, and Adrian Kreda. In 2017, he received the Filipinetti Award for Best Soloist Master. He further refined his artistry with Paul Badura-Skoda, Eberhard Feltz, Andreas Staier, Franz Helmerson, and Nelson Goerner. A recipient of cultural scholarships from the Leenaards and Dénéréaz Foundations, he later completed his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln and the Musik Akademie Basel under the guidance of Claudio Martínez-Mehner.
